An outdoor fireplace brings warmth, fire and atmosphere to your garden or patio. At Zeeuwse Houtpellets you’ll find low-smoke pellet outdoor fireplaces and fire bowls that work without gas or electricity, affordable, sustainable and available for immediate delivery from Zeeland.

What is an outdoor fireplace?

An outdoor stove is a freestanding stove for use in the garden, on the patio or under a canopy. The stove provides warmth and creates atmosphere through an open play of flames. Outdoor stoves run on wood pellets, firewood or gas, depending on the type. A garden or patio stove on pellets is the cleanest option: virtually smokeless and without a gas connection.

Which types of outdoor stoves suit you?

Zeeuwse Houtpellets supplies 3 types of outdoor stoves. Each garden stove suits a specific situation and intensity of use:

  • Pellet outdoor stove: The pellet garden stove runs on ENplus A1 wood pellets and requires no electricity. Stoves such as the Ignira pellet outdoor stove and Fyra pellet outdoor stove are equipped with a glass flue pipe for a full view of the flames. Thanks to secondary combustion, the stove is virtually smoke-free, ideal for gardens in built-up areas. Fill the tube with pellets, light the outdoor stove and the fire will burn for up to 2 hours on one fill, refillable during use. Store your fuel dry in a pellet storage box so pellets are always within reach next to the stove.
  • Tabletop outdoor fireplace: The Flamira is a compact tabletop model and patio fireplace for any outdoor table. The fireplace runs on wood pellets and small firewood. Suitable for atmospheric evenings on a small patio or under a canopy, without smoke nuisance for the neighbours. Garden fireplaces in this size are popular as mood-makers by the lounge set. The garden fireplace heats up quickly. This compact stove is easy to light and quickly reaches temperature.
  • Fire bowl: A low-smoke fire bowl like the Embra uses a smart air circulation system. Air flows in from below and is reburned, allowing the outdoor stove to burn efficiently and cleanly. The stove runs on wood pellets, firewood and charcoal. The outdoor stove is available in black steel and Corten steel.

What should you look for when choosing an outdoor fireplace?

There are 5 practical points to consider when purchasing outdoor stoves and garden stoves:

  • Fuel: ENplus A1-quality wood pellets produce less smoke than standard firewood. A pellet outdoor stove is the smartest choice for gardens in built-up areas; the stove emits minimal smoke and the fire burns bright and clear.
  • Material: Powder-coated steel is light and affordable. Durable cast-iron stoves last for decades. Cast iron provides excellent radiant heat and a classic look.
  • Placement: Place the outdoor stove on a stable, non-combustible surface and keep at least 1 metre distance from combustible materials. Thanks to the glass flue and smart combustion design, our pellet outdoor stoves burn virtually smokeless, so no separate flue is needed. This makes them ideal for use under a canopy or veranda.
  • Smoke nuisance: A low-smoke pellet outdoor stove produces minimal smoke. Secondary combustion burns off flue gases again before they are released. This way you can enjoy the fire without bothering the neighbours.
  • Service life: High-quality steel with a heat-resistant powder coating keeps the stove in good condition for many years. UV-resistant coating prevents discolouration when left outside in all weather conditions.

Materials: which type suits your outdoor stove?

Outdoor fireplaces are available in 3 materials. Your choice determines the look, weight and maintenance of your garden fireplace. Each material gives the fireplace its own strengths:

  • Powder-coated steel: Powder-coated steel is lightweight, modern and heat-resistant. Black steel fits into any garden design. The stove and heater remain stylish even with intensive use and changing weather conditions.
  • Corten steel: Corten steel develops a protective patina when exposed to moisture, which stops further corrosion. The alloy contains copper and other elements that form a dense, self-healing layer when oxidising, meaning the stove needs no additional treatment. Rust formation is a characteristic of this material, not a defect. With use, the outdoor stove develops a warm, industrial look.
